All you need to know before you schedule a lesson
You can choose from a 1-to-1 class or a group session for any course which we teach online using Zoom / Teams.
We will teach them online using the Apps mentioned above; it's a very interactive process and we make sure we don't miss out anything and match it as closely as possible to a face to face session.
To get started all you need is a laptop or tablet (ipad or android) and a paper and pen.
All the details, like how to join and how to send homework back for marking will be shared with you once you register with us or we can speak to you any time over phone.
Check the secondary school admissions section of your county council's website to find out which exam board is contracted in your region (if applicable). You should also check the admissions section of the individual schools' websites you wish to apply for. These usually tell you the exam board they use, or (in the case of schools that run their exams independently) a breakdown of the subjects/topics covered by their own exams. They also often have sample papers, so check these out to make sure you know what question types your child should be familiar with.
We work on no contract basis you can stop the sessions any time with a short notice of 2 weeks.
If you cannot make to any particular session we will appreciate if you can tell us 24 hours in advance, in that case we will be able to reschedule it or no charge for that session, else it will be charged.
If we cancel any class in an emergency we will provide the full refund for that class.
Upon starting with us your child will be fully assessed in Maths and English (both year 4 & 5) and its is to make sure where each pupil is starting from and where they need to be heading. This way we can personalise the plan for them.
The 11+ path is not suitable for all children; however we pride ourselves upon honest feedback in this area. We believe in honest feedback, if the child is capable of doing the 11 plus or not. We are happy to support and tutor any pupil that is eager is try.
After the assesment we start with teaching them course material. Once we have covered the syllanus we focus on practice papers. This gives an opportunity to summarise the new Learning and practice for the exam. We normally start the papers around Easter, depending on students progress.
In order to offer a fully rounded course and ensure that children are completely prepared, we also offer separate booster courses during half terms. IAs a last mile preparation from May onwards we offer Mock exams. We also do summer schools in August.
(These courses are charged separately and need an advance booking)
Booster course is run during each term holidays. Most topics will be briefly revised, a few topics will require more in depth work, and the bulk of the sessions will concentrate on practice questions and exam style questions. We have found this method of revision to be the most efficient and most effective.
We do these short courses for Maths GCSE, Vocabulary for 11 plus and Long Maths practice for 11 plus students. Please ask the tutor for any information you need.
Our past experience says children are very adaptive and learn this skill really quickly and efficiently.
If you are not sure, we can provide 30 min free interactive session, with you and your child. During this free session we will make sure that you and your child have understood the process and happy to proceed.
Our tutors have been tutoring for many year with face to face classes. Current times have required us to adapt our techniques and develop new teaching skills that are suitable to online audience. We strongly believe it is a new normal and gives us more freedom of learning without leaving home.
Based on the survey of our current students and parents, 90% would like to continue with online sessions even when current pandemic goes away.
We accept online payments only through bank transfer. Once the student starts with us we will send you an invoice with transfer details and you can make the payment.
We will bill you monthly there after and payment will be required to be paid in advance latest by second week of each month, else there will be a small charge of £5 as a late payment.
